Hi everyone!

Just a quick update to mention that shipping is alllllmost ready to start! QML is assembling the stretch goal bundles now, and everything is in-hand at the warehouse (except for the signed bookplates, which are right here on my desk, going to UPS this afternoon).

At this point, domestic shipping should begin in the next 2 weeks or so. We'll keep you posted! It's getting close!

We're almost done with the (free) KIM TRAUMA spinoff PDF comic, too. That will likely be distributed about the same time. It's a great bonus book, and is a really nice follow-up to the full FREAKS SQUEELE saga. 😊

In the meantime, our friends at Magnetic Press and Neurobellum are going to be launching a new campaign next week that ties into the 250th holiday celebration next week -- 

 LIBERTY — The Arms Smugglers Who Helped Win the Revolution

This is an ambitious graphic novel project that was meticulously researched and written by JORDAN MECHNER, the creator of the legendary Prince of Persia video game series. Told in a deluxe 200+ page full-color hardcover graphic novel, this epic tale reveals the details behind the unlikely friendship that pulled off America's first black op to secure our nation's independence from the British.

This is kind of an important story, not just because of the special anniversary next week, but as a grand illustration of the European/French support of America's independence from the very beginning.

Digital Distribution has begun!

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday! Just a quick update to let you all know that a bunch of digital rewards have been distributed!

You may have already received an email notification from Backerkit, but if not, check your inboxes (or spam folders) this weekend. You can also check your Backerkit page directly by logging into https://freaks-squeele.backerkit.com/

Once logged in, you should see a big blue button in the middle of the page that says "Get Your Digital Downloads" -- click on that to see your personal links for each item ordered. Granted, you will only see that button if you have finished your Backerkit survey, but if you haven't, that link will also walk you through the process.

The books are hosted by Gumroad -- you will have to follow the (simple) instructions found in each download description to use your unique codes to download your files from Gumroad for free. 😊

 The free bonus stretch goal comic KIM TRAUMA has not been posted yet, as we’re still working on the translation. We hope to have that finished soon, so watch these updates for news on when that free bonus item will be available.

The physical books and bonus items are still on their way from their respective manufacturers, and they're all expected to reach our warehouse very soon. The factory has fixed the stretch goal coin, so those are now on their way. They look GREAT!

Shipping should be able to start shortly once everything has arrived.

Stretch Goals in-hand, books on their way to our warehouse

Hi everyone!

We hope you've been having a nice late Spring. Lots going on! We've received the majority of our Stretch Goal bonus items at the warehouse, and the books are expected to arrive in a few weeks!

Here are some warehouse photos of some of the stretch goal bonus items:

The coin is also in production, and they look really good, although the design on one side is not as ordered (missing the outer ring design), so they are forging a new sample for approval now...

As a reminder, these are all included for FREE with physical pledges (along with a set of postcard prints not shown here).

We're also still working on the translation of KIM TRAUMA, the FREE digital comic that all backers will receive. That may have to follow the other digital files, which we hope to have out to you in early June. Sorry for the wait, but there's a lot of content, so it will be worth it! 😊

We expect to receive the books at the warehouse by mid-June, which is when we will lock addresses to begin fulfillment. Shipping should begin in July, assuming all goes as planned. We'll keep you all posted as those final pieces fall into place!

Locking orders this weekend

Hi everyone!

Just a quick heads-up that we're locking the pledge manager orders this weekend. You should get an email notification from Backerkit in the next 24 hours stating that you will have 48hours to make any last adjustments to your order before they lock it for final production and fulfillment prep. We'll then charge credit cards for any balance due next Monday.

Don't worry if you're not sure about your delivery address once we start shipping. You'll have two more opportunities to update your address before we start fulfillment. Please note: if you change addresses within the same territory/country, you shouldn't notice much, if any, difference. If you change territories or countries before fulfillment, however, your postage may change notably, depending on your before and after addresses. If you're not sure if you'll need to change territories/countries, don't fret -- we'll do our best to help you out. 🙂

The various stretch goal swag is in full production now, and the books are on the water, so we hope to be able to start shipping in July!

Status report and something new!

Hey, everyone!

Just a quick update (as requested by a handful of backers) – things are rolling right along as scheduled. The books are printing and should exit the factory by the end of this month (March). They’ll then take the long trip across the ocean, and barring any unexpected delays, we should be ready to start fulfilling orders in June. We hope to have some advance samples of the finished books in the next few weeks, and we’ll be sure to post thorough previews and lots of photos once they’ve arrived. The extra bonus items will also be ready in the next several weeks, and we’ll post photos of those as well.

We plan to lock orders on Backerkit around March 20th, so please complete your surveys before then! If you need help accessing your survey, you can try logging directly into https://freaks-squeele.backerkit.com/ using your Kickstarter-associated email address. If that doesn’t work, or if the login process is confusing, please email [email protected] and they’ll help you out.

We also hope to have the digital files ready to send out sometime in April. We’re working with Florent now to get the KIM TRAUMA translation done. We’ll keep you all posted as that comes together.

We’ll then likely lock addresses once everything has reached our warehouse, expected by the first week of May. Please keep an eye out for updates about that as we get closer.

In the meantime, our friends at Magnetic Press are running a new campaign for WORLDS BETWEEN WORLDS: THE GRAPHIC NOVELS OF JONATHAN NKONDO, an excellent set of books by an amazing animation director and artist who has worked on awesome projects such as SCAVENGERS REIGN, LOVE DEATH + ROBOTS, LEAGUE OF LEGENDS, and most recently the new animated short film/music video “The Mountain, the Moon Cave, and the Sad God” by Gorillaz. 

Whether you’re a fan of Gorillaz or not, you can’t deny the charm of hand-made 2D animation. Jonathan’s creation of the “Moon Cave” sequence in the middle is a real standout, and his personal graphic novels are incredibly unique, showcasing the same depth and pacing as those animated projects. If you like SCAVENGERS REIGN, you'll love these graphic novels.
